Police have arrested 10 suspected
members of a secret cult at a forest at
Amai, Ukwuani local government area
of Delta State, as initiation of new
members was in progress.
Mr. Lucky Uyabeme, the Delta State
Police Command’s spokesman
confirmed the Sunday incident saying
the arrested confessed to the crime.
Speaking to the press Monday,
Uyabeme said the arrest was a joint
operation between operatives of anti-
kidnapping squad Asaba and Amai
community vigilante.
Some members of the cult, which
goes by the name mephitis secret
cult, were able to escape.
“The command wishes to advise
youths to channel their youthful
energy towards profitable ventures
and shun all forms of vices which
cannot add value to their lives” said
the spokesman.
