There are rumours that in a few weeks
D’banj will be unveiled as an Ambassador
to telecoms company, Etisalat.
According to TheNET investigation D’banj
will be “the first ever brand ambassador for
Etisalat as the telecommunication company
is set to sign up the pop singer for a multi-
million naira endorsement deal.”
D’banj’s new manager, Tony Nwakolor told
a NET reporter over the phone, “When we
are ready to make an announcement, we
will make it.”
Just like MTN, Etisalat has avoided signing
brand ambassadors for many years. But a
change in policy now appears inevitable,
following the loss of their most notable
brand model, ‘Saka’ to MTN in a mobile
number portability saga.
Also according to reporters, “Sources say
Etisalat is also looking at signing a few
other acts. Top of the list is pop icon 2face
Idibia. Others like Ice Prince and Sasha
have been mentioned although there are no
confirmations for now.”
