Navi Pillay to make first visit to Cameroon from 30 June to 2 July 2013

GENEVA, Switzerland, June 27, 2013/African
Press Organization (APO)/ -- The United
Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights,
Navi Pillay, will conduct her first official
mission to Cameroon from 30 June to 2 July
2013, at the invitation of the Government of
Cameroon.
During her visit, Pillay will meet the President
of the Republic, the Prime Minister, the
Ministers of External Relations, Justice,
Women's Promotion and the Family, and
representatives of the judiciary.
The High Commissioner will also meet the
President of the Senate, the Speaker of the
National Assembly, the Chairperson and
members of the National Commission on
Human Rights and Freedoms. She will also hold
talks with members of civil society.
At the end of her visit on Tuesday 2 July, the
High Commissioner will hold a news
conference at the United Nations Centre for
Human Rights and Democracy in Central Africa
at Golf Ntougou quarter in Yaoundé from
17:00 to 18:00.
