The Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Nigerian
Federal Universities on Monday expressed concern
over the on-going strike embarked upon by ASUU
and called for immediate resolution.
This is contained in a statement issued by Prof.
Kimse Okoko, Chairman, Committee of Pro-
Chancellors of Nigerian Federal Universities in
Abuja on Monday.
The statement said the strike by ASUU had lingered
because of the non-implementation of the 2009
agreement between the Federal Government and the
union.
"The collateral consequences of the strike are as it
relates to the Post -UTME screening and the semester
examinations in some universities, as well as the
general dislocation of the academic calendar.
"The committee of pro-chancellors wishes to appeal
to all parties concerned to dispassionately expedite
action to resolve the matter soonest,’’ it said.
The statement further said that the committee, on its
part, would work assiduously toward ensuring quick
resolution of the impasse.
